A Beyond Climate Collaborative survey
Are you a student, researcher, practitioner, advocate, activist, artist, creative, or change-maker working at the intersection of climate mobility and environmental justice? We want to hear from you.
Beyond Climate Collaborative (BCC) is conducting a first-of-its-kind global survey to better understand the needs, aspirations, challenges, and opportunities of emerging leaders like you—those who are shaping the future of climate mobility justice from the ground up.
Voices on the Move: Surveying Aspirations, Needs and Opportunities to support Emerging Leaders for Climate Mobility Justice is more than just a survey—it’s about power, voice, and visibility. We want to understand your lived experiences, the barriers and challenges you face, as well as your hopes and needs as leaders in the climate mobility space—so we can amplify them and support your transformative action.
Why this matters
As climate change accelerates, so do climate-related (im)mobilities—voluntary and forced. Yet, the realities faced by those leading sustainable, justice-based and rights-respecting solutions are too often under-recognized and under-funded. At BCC, we’re committed to shifting that.
We believe climate mobility must be understood through the lens of justice—social, migrant, racial, feminist, economic, and environmental. This survey is part of a larger effort to center frontline voices in shaping the future of programs, funding, and policy.
Amplifying barriers, needs and opportunities for support
Our friends at We Are Family Foundation helped lead the groundbreaking Possibilists Report, which revealed:
- 66% of emerging leaders cannot compensate themselves beyond a token amount, 41% receive no compensation at all, only 9% are able to live off their ventures
- 59% have experienced burnout
- 64% feel systemic inequalities limit their impact
Yet, they continue to lead with innovation and hope.
We know much less about the barriers experienced by emerging leaders working to tackle climate-related challenges. And even less about the needs and aspirations of change-makers advancing climate mobility and environmental justice solutions within their communities and around the world. And we want to change that.
Here is your chance to let us know what types of support can transform your critical work!
Your insights will directly:
- Amplify frontline leadership in climate mobility justice
- Inform future BCC offerings, opportunities and programmes
- Help shape our advocacy with funders, partners and institutions to expand supportive networks
- Support collective learning and resource-building to advance climate mobility justice
What to expect:
The project includes:
- A global survey to gather insights, challenges, and visions from the field
- A series of consultative dialogues to deepen collective understanding
- A public report with strategic recommendations for funders and institutions
- A culminating launch event to share findings and catalyze action
